Actual foam size is 37.5” by 79”. A Twin is described as nominal size of 38 or 39 by 75 or 76. Actual foam size is 37.5” by 74”. This allows for a mattress cover and sheets and bedding you tuck in.

A standard electric knife, the kind used to carve turkey or meat, works well to cut foam if you want to create custom sizes or shapes. Simply order a slightly larger foam size than what you want, and trim it yourself.
